CAFEN advocates for the integration of family engagement best practices into pre-service training for future educators and other child - and youth - serving professionals.  Too often, family engagement is an afterthought in traditional preparation programs.  We are changing that by demonstrating how future teachers can effectively partner with and empower the families of their students.  The goal is to shift mindsets and practices early so the next generation of professionals enters the field embracing families as true partners for ensuring children's success in school and life.
