CAFEN is dedicated to shaping family engagement policies and investments at the federal, state, and local levels.  We conduct research, analyze legislation, and advocate for the development of comprehensive policy recommendations that elevate meaningful family engagement.  Too often, family engagement efforts are fragmented or added as an afterthought.  We advocate for coordinated policy that aligns with evidence-based engagement models.  Our policy communications educate all levels of elected officials and policymakers on why systemic family engagement matters for outcomes and how it can be integrated effectively.  We spotlight model legislation and funding streams for states and districts.  Our ultimate goal is to drive policy action that positions families as true partners and provides the necessary infrastructure for equitable, culturally responsive family engagement practices.
